Board Composition

The members of the North Iowa Children's Alliance Area Board shall be elected officials or citizen representatives. The membership of an area board shall include representation from early care, education, health, human services, business, and faith interests, and at least one parent, grandparent, or guardian of a child from prenatal through age five. Members cannot represent more than one area of expertise.

You have the chance to invest in our youngest citizens…and all you have to do is volunteer your time!
 

The North Iowa Children’s Alliance Board is seeking applicants who want to help children ages 0-5 grow, learn and prepare for Kindergarten throughout Cerro Gordo, Hancock and Worth Counties. With allocated financial resources from the State of Iowa, our 10-member board awards Early Childhood grants to ensure young children will be healthy physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.
 

We are looking for members who:

  • Have a passion for the cause and want to see children grow and succeed.
  • Care about our communities and our counties.
  • Have the willingness to commit time for board meetings, committee meetings, and community planning.​
  • Are a consumer of services of children 0-5 as either a parent or grandparent.

Board Memberships are available to individuals who reside in Cerro Gordo, Hancock or Worth counties and do not directly or indirectly receive funds from our Board. Board typically meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
